Senior Accessibility Consultant
Join our team as a remote Senior Accessibility Consultant.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert-level accessibility consulting services to our clients, ensuring their digital products and services are accessible to all users. You will leverage your deep knowledge and understanding of a11y standards to create and execute a11y testing approaches and processes throughout the software development lifecycle. Using your expertise, you will guide and educate clients on best practices for accessibility, and help them develop and implement effective a11y policies and procedures.
responsibilities
- Provide expert-level accessibility consulting services to clients, ensuring their digital products and services are accessible to all users
- Develop and execute a comprehensive accessibility testing approach and process throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Collaborate with clients to help them develop and implement effective a11y policies and procedures
- Conduct accessibility evaluations of websites, applications, and other digital products
- Provide guidance and education to clients on best practices for accessibility, and help them stay up to date with the latest a11y standards and guidelines
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our accessibility consulting services
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members
requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in accessibility consulting or a related field
- In-depth knowledge of a11y standards, guidelines, and best practices such as WCAG, Section 508, ARIA, etc.
- Ability to develop and execute a comprehensive accessibility testing approach and process throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience with assistive technologies such as screen readers, magnifiers, and other tools
- Excellent communication and consulting skills, able to interact with clients at all levels of the organization
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in English language, with an upper-intermediate level of competency for clear and effective communication with clients and team members
