Senior Accessibility Consultant
We are seeking a Senior Accessibility Consultant to join our remote team. Your primary focus will be to ensure that our clients' digital products are accessible to all users, irrespective of their abilities. You will be responsible for providing consultancy on accessibility best practices and ensuring that our clients' products meet or exceed the required accessibility standards.
responsibilities
- Provide consultancy on accessibility best practices to clients and ensure that their digital products are accessible to all users
- Conduct accessibility workshops and training sessions for clients and team members, including brainstorming and idea-generating team sessions
- Ensure that clients' products meet or exceed the required accessibility standards, including A11y compliance report/VPAT compilation, A11y standards, and A11y testing approaches
- Contribute to the development of accessibility specifications and guidelines for clients
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accessibility is part of the product development process from the outset
- Stay up to date with the latest accessibility guidelines and standards and ensure that clients' products adhere to them
requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accessibility consulting
- Expertise in accessibility WCAG 2.0/2.1 and ARIA standards
- Solid understanding of accessibility in software development, including accessibility in SDLC
- Experience in developing accessibility specifications and conducting accessibility testing using different evaluation tools
- Expertise in using screen readers and other assistive technologies
- Excellent consultancy skills, including the ability to present, explain and advocate accessibility-based decisions to stakeholders
- Fluency in spoken and written English, allowing effective communication with clients and team members
